Hall of Remembrance:
A Sanctum of Memory and Honor

The Puerto Rican Historical & Cultural Museum, the Hall of Remembrance stands as a solemn sanctum, dedicated to preserving the enduring legacy of those who have shaped our island’s rich tapestry. More than a mere collection of names and dates, this hall embodies a profound reverence for the lives and contributions of Puerto Rico’s most esteemed figures—heroes, visionaries, and artisans whose spirits continue to inspire.

Here, memory is honored with meticulous care: each portrait, artifact, and inscription invites reflection on the enduring impact of our collective heritage. The Hall of Remembrance transcends the traditional notion of a “hall of fame” by embracing both the glory and the gravitas of history, ensuring that remembrance is not fleeting but eternal.

It is a sanctuary where visitors engage with the past not as distant spectators but as participants in an ongoing narrative—one that celebrates resilience, creativity, and the unwavering spirit of Puerto Rico. The Hall of Remembrance is, therefore, not merely a space of honor, but a living testament to identity, perseverance, and pride.

The Hall of Remembrance stands as a solemn tribute within the Puerto Rican Historical & Cultural Museum, dedicated to preserving the legacy and valor of those who have shaped our island's history. This distinguished space invites visitors to engage deeply with Puerto Rico's collective past, offering a reflective environment where stories of courage, resilience, and sacrifice come alive.

We will begin by preserving our stories and histories through a digital collection of our own. Created by Boricuas, for Boricuas, like you and I, to keep our stories alive, this archive will serve as a lasting tribute to our rich cultural heritage and collective memory.

We all know individuals whose impact resonates through time, and it is our duty to honor their legacy, ensuring that future generations can also remember and learn from them.

Historically, stories were preserved through oral traditions, passed down from one generation to the next. With the evolution of society, written records and books became the primary means of safeguarding history. Today, advances in technology allow us to archive these invaluable memories digitally, utilizing digital archives and cloud storage to preserve Puerto Rico’s rich cultural and historical heritage with unparalleled accessibility and permanence for all to see and remember.

A Sport of Enduring Resilience

Originating from the diverse and dynamic streets of the Bronx, this sport emerged as an innovative adaptation of baseball—a game transformed by the creativity and resourcefulness of a community shaped by diaspora experiences. It symbolizes not only athletic competition but also the profound resilience and cultural identity forged through perseverance in the face of adversity.

While its origins are grounded in urban neighborhoods, this sport has witnessed significant growth, particularly throughout the state of Florida, where vibrant communities continue to embrace and cultivate its legacy. Nonetheless, it confronts challenges in overcoming perceptions of decline, as newer generations navigate the balance between tradition and modernization.

Our museum is committed to honoring and preserving the rich heritage of this sport. The celebration of extraordinary athletes enshrined in our Hall of Fame, we provide a crucial platform that ensures its history remains alive—and its future secured.

Explore the enduring legacy of this remarkable sport, a true reflection of cultural ingenuity and unwavering determination.

This project has been lead by and founded by Felipe Morales, one of our founding artists and proud fellow stickball hall of famer. This hall of fame is to ensure that the one from New York is not forgotten, as his friends and teammates pass away and have migrated from New York to Orlando Fl after the intial migration of puerto ricans.
